Picture of Easter Themed Door Hangers
IN THE HOOP EASTER THEMED DOOR HANGERS

You will need :

1 Fat Quarter
Medium weight stabiliser
Temporary spray adhesive
Design of your choice
Cottons colours of your choice

Method :

Hoop up the fat quarter and stitch the dyeline marked at position 1 on the stitching chart.

Remove the fabric from the hoop and cut two pieces.  Make sure to cut just inside the stitched line.

Hoop up 3 pieces of medium weight stabiliser and stitch the second dyeline.

Spray lightly with a temporary spray adhesive and stick one of the fabric pieces onto the top of the stabiliser.

Continue with the embroidery.

At the second last dyeline, remove the hoop from your machine and stick the second fabric piece to the back of the hooped stabiliser and embroidered hanger.

Change your bobbin to hold the same cotton as the top thread.

Continue with the embroidery - this will now finish off the edges of the doorhanger.

Gently tear the stabiliser away.

Stitch dyeline 1

Stick fabric cutout into dyeline on stabiliser

I know it's a bit more expensive, but use Sew 'n Wash Away stabiliser ... instead of having little white bits sticking out along the edges, just wet around the edge when finished embroidering and you'll have a very professionally finished item!

Thought you'd like to see a picture of Savannah, my little CHOC Ambassador at Easter this year.

Joanne Kavannaugh, a tireless volunteer worker for CHOC, her daughter Shannon, and Gabriel, a wonderful young man who carried huge boxes of eggs, helped me to surprise the children having chemotherapy at the Johannesburg General Hospital on Wednesday 28th March 2007.

We donned Easter Bunny ears and gave the children each a bunny egg while the Moms 'n Dads who were sitting with their children were given chocolate marshmallow eggs to enjoy with their tea.
