The Dah-lingsHappy Valentines Day!

This afternoon, my friend Geniene and I took a few ladies from the MOTH cottages to the theater to see The Dahlings... and oh, were they Dah-ling!

The show took our guests back to WWII days, when the Andrews sisters and Vera Lynn kept the troops entertained.

Here's a photo of The Dahlings with all our other darlngs!

The show is on at The Fringe, Johannesburg Civic.  Please support them if you can!

RIP My Special BoyMy darling Mozart settled down in his favorite chair for his nap in the sun this afternoon and didn't wake up.  We buried him under the stinkwood tree outside.   Our hearts are terribly sore tonight.

He spent many an afternoon lying next to my sewing machine - I often wondered if the motor of it reminded him of another cat purring?!  And oftentimes he'd insist on sitting on my lap while I was trying to digitize.  He'd win... the digitizing would be put off till later...

My best friend Cynthia is returning to Switzerland tomorrow.  She too loves pansies and, as I wouldn't have enough time to make a shirt like Jeanette's for her, I made up a quick little makeup bag so that she had something lightweight to travel with.

.

Jeanette was so pleased to receive something featuring pansies... at last!  I bought a plain white cotton shirt and embroidered the pansies just up the one side using two hoopings of the 5x7 hoop.

I fiddled around with different pinks and purples and then purchased a purple strappy top for her to wear underneath.

She was so excited to receive this gift that she changed into her new outfit immediately so that I could take this picture and pop it onto the site.

Here's a close up of the embroidery....  I will put up a set shortly.  If you're interested, contact me and I'll let you know when it is released!l

SAVE THE HOOTERS!!!!

I was so inspired by Samantha, a breast cancer survivor, at the Bosom Buddies lunch I attended in October, that I digitised Stella (left) onto an existing white t-shirt.

Her sign reads "SAVE THE HOOTERS".

Of course, I caused quite a hoot in the office the day I wore it!

Little Isabella is just my favorite adopted grand-daughter... she belongs to my assistant at work, but as her real Grannies live overseas, I've sort of taken over the role.

I made her her first cloth book with wild animals like lion, zebra, moneys and so on.

Here's a pic of the front cover.

And here are a few of the inside pages
